Description
Brain Damage transforms a canvas I found in a charity shop with line-drawing of a nude figure into a ambigious, interlocking forms. Layered in cool blue-grays, the reinterpreted volumes trace the original contours while dissolving anatomical clarity into a totemic, almost cellular mass. Set against a vigorously worked crimson field, the work oscillates between figure and object, inviting close inspection of surface, shadow and the uneasy tension between representation and mutation.
